Over the past 9 years I have been teaching Physio-led-Pilates classes in Westport and for the last 4 1/2 years at our own studio on Mill street. I love teaching Pilates and interacting with our lovely participants.
The aim for those who attend is to enjoy moving their body in a safe environment, and to build up strength and flexibility and improve quality of movement in everyday life.
Although my preference is to meet people and have them involved in a class based setting, over the last year we haven't been able to facilitate everyone who would like to attend one of our classes, sometimes times don't suit people due to work commitments, child minding issues, or just space available in our classes.
So we decided in the past 6 months it might be a good option to create our Physio-led-Pilates classes online, so as people who weren't able to attend classes onsite would have the opportunity if they wished to follow the 6 week programme at home, without the need for any equipment other than some floor space or a matt. We hope it will allow more people to improve their strength and flexibly in the comfort of their own homes, or even while on travelling.
The programme is set up in 6 45min classes, that include relaxation to begin and get us centred ready to focus on our bodies, then the warm up exercises that start to increase the flexibility of the spine and then the progressive exercise to build core, mobility and strength safely over a 6 week programme, you also have access for 12 weeks to allow you to complete the sessions twice or if life gets in the way that you are not confined to just 6 weeks to complete.
