Hello my name is Gina. I am from the lovely village of Turlough on the outskirts of Castlebar.
I joined the team here at Westport Physiotherapy Clinic in September 2021.
I obtained my BSc Hons Physiotherapy degree from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2016. I began my career working for the NHS in North Manchester General Hospital, where I gained a vast amount of experience completing my core rotations as a junior, then worked as a senior on Musculoskeletal Outpatients Department before returning home in 2018 to work in the community in Mayo.
Growing up I could be found throwing myself into any sport going. This grá for sport both watching and playing, drove my passion to work with musculoskeletal injuries. In 2019 I sustained an ACL knee injury. As part of my rehabilitaiton I started attending Physio-led Pilates classes which first sparked my passion for Pilates. Since then I have qualified as an APPI Pilates Instructor and run eight classes per week here in Westport and at Turlough Community Centre.
I went solo travelling round the world in 2019, returning home from New Zealand in 2020 due to Covid 19. When I’m not working I love socialising with my friends and family, running, kayaking and climbing mountains galore. I love to travel and explore new places, Mayo really is a wonderful county to explore.
