Thumb & Hand - Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

The carpal tunnel is a gap in the wrist bones where the muscle, blood vessels and nerve pass into the hand from the forearm. Compression and swelling of this area can cause altered sensation in the hand. Studies have shown that positions of extension such as typing at a keyboard or gripping tightly when flexed cause increase pressure within the carpal tunnel.

Sings & Symptoms:

  • Pain in the hand or wrist
  • Pin and needles in the hand
  • Burning, tingling or numbness in the hand.
