As with myofascial release therapy it is a gentle sustained pressure for 2-5 minutes release restriction within the connective tissue network.
The effects of scarring on the fascial and connective tissue network can harbour an enormous strain pattern affecting structure and function as well as eliciting symptoms and conditions that seem unrelated.
Scar tissue release plays an important role in all therapist practices providing increased flexibility and function for the patient or client. Whilst we can physically see the scar on the skin, what we don't see is the layer upon layer of scarring and chronic adhesions beneath the visible scar , through the superficial, deep and visceral tissues and through and around muscle, bone, vessels and nerves.
